AFA Youth Club

The AFA Youth Club is built on a simple belief: that young people, given the right environment and guidance, are capable of engaging with art at the highest level. This is education in its truest form, designed to cultivate visual literacy, critical thinking, and the kind of curiosity that shapes a lifelong relationship with culture.

What follows is a year of learning to see, to question, and to create.

What to Expect

Your child will spend time with art that demands attention. Active inquiry, close looking, meaningful questions. Guided tours through the Foundation's collection teach them how to articulate what they see and why it matters. They develop an independent eye.

They'll work alongside professional artists and educators in hands-on workshops. Painting, sculpting, animation: the medium changes, but the principle remains the same. To understand art, you must also make it. To interpret the decisions of others, you must first confront the difficulty of making your own.

They'll watch films chosen for substance. Georgian cinema, carefully selected for their age and intellectual development. Afterward, they discuss what they've seen in moderated conversations that teach them to articulate responses, challenge interpretations, and develop the vocabulary to express complex ideas.

We treat young people as the engaged audience they already are.
