Film and Architecture

A Screening Program in Collaboration with Irina Kurtishvili

From January 22 through March 12, every Thursday, the AFA Cinema Hall — in collaboration with Irina Kurtishvili — presents a new project titled "Film and Architecture."

This authorial project is dedicated to cinematic masterpieces created through the synthesis of film and architecture. The retrospective features fiction, documentary, and experimental films in which the city, architecture, and landscape play a central role.

In the first cycle of the project, audiences will experience film classics from different periods, exploring cities, iconic buildings, architects, and architectural dynasties.

Each screening will be followed by discussions with invited guests.

As part of the project, AFA will also host exhibitions featuring thematic publications, photographic materials, and architectural works.

Irina Kurtishvili is a renowned artist, curator, and scenographer working between Germany and Georgia. Over the past two decades, her initiatives and authorship have led to the realization of numerous architectural, artistic, and cinematic projects in Tbilisi, Frankfurt, Berlin, Vienna, and Zurich.
